How to Ask for a Pay Rise

It is hard enough to find a job sometimes jumping through he hoops of the job seeking market and trying to impress employers and get a decent salary and benefits in a job you want.

What can sometimes be harder, especially if times are tough is when you HAVE a job asking for more money because quite frankly ... most companies earn enough money to pay you more if you are doing a good job but they don't WANT to pay you more.

That small annual pay rise usually just covers inflation and often not even that!

The problem is, if you ask for a pay raise will it hurt the security of your job, will you be able to do this without causing problems and most importantly will it GET you more money in your pocket even if you try?

In my opinion you need to have all the information at hand and be prepared before you march into your bosses office. You need to know HOW they think and how YOU can use that to your advantage to score a big fat increase on your paycheck every week.
